Too Many Categories That Most People Fall Into ... L G B T Q C G D ... I Get Confused
by RubaDub init seems like we are all getting pigeon-holed into a category that may or may not be applicable to us.
personally, i am a "d" but i am sure there are a few (though statistically insignificant) who would otherwise fall into an "o" or other category.. it just seems like society needs to label us in the l g b t q c g d communities.. rub a dub.

If people truly want to be accepted and equal, there are no catagories. It seems, in today's society, People want to be unique without actually working hard at finding themselves, so they allow others to pidgeon hole them. Then they want to tell their story, or push the envelope a bit more, in an effort to stand out. Ironically, It's all really a matter of being a follower.
I judge others on how they present themselves, their actions, and how they fit into my life. I like and or dislike people based on that criteria. Not based on their sexual orientation, or gender, or color of their skin. In fact I like people a whole lot more when they refuse to make any of those things a factor in who they are. They stand out based on their talents or good deeds, hard work, and refuse to let society's ever changing catagories, define them.
IMO, anyone who let's their sexual orientation define them, are pretty shallow and have an awful lot to learn about themselves.

Dont forget that many apps are created over seas, places like China, Indonesia, Taiwan, etc, that don't acknowledge US copyright laws and look for any and every niche and avenue, to make money. This could even be someone with more sinister intentions...

We could keep going. Take Sunday for example. Day of the Sun. Derived from astrology. Perhaps they should refer to that day, and at least some of the other days of the week, as something else, given their pagan and astrological origins. And, while we're at it, why is their most important meeting held on Sunday?...

Diogenesister, while I can see it from your point of view, the word fortune comes from the latin, Fortuna. Fortuna was the Roman goddess of luck or chance.
But it very much proves my point in that, though the word derives from pagan origins, it has evolved to a somewhat different meaning in our day.
Fortunately; ie, things went well despite the probability of something going wrong.
Unfortunately; ie, something went wrong, despite best efforts to avoid problems.
It would be next to impossible to converse (at least in the English language) and not, at some point, use one of those two words.

It would be nice if this forum went back to the basics
by nowwhat? innot to offend or impose my opinion.
but simply i would like to see just news and insights from the local congregation to the top organization level of: downsizing, closings, c.s.a.
personal experiences, unscriptural doctrines of the org.and direct commentary of the above.

Cofty, It's easy to say "not to impose my opinion", followed by an opinion where you'd like to see others posts restricted to certain topics only. It's still wishing to impose your opinion, and hoping someone will dictate what can and cant be discussed.

Dictating what others should or shouldn't reasonably be able to do here, sounds like a familiar trait. I see some things here I don't agree with, just like I see things elsewhere on the net, as well as daily life, work, tv, billboards, etc... Guess what, I have the right to bitch about it, or ignore it, and go along my merry way, choosing to not let it effect me. Its nice to have those choices, and I'm happy that others have the right to voice their opinions, even if they differ from mine. As Morpheus said, the scroll past feature works well, learning to use it is often good for ones mental health.
